Terms of service

Last updated:

These terms are the agreement between you and Severoo, which operates Severoo. They apply when you use this website, create an account or run a server. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

The short version: the service is free, a server stays online while you renew it, your files are yours and so is the job of keeping a copy, and we can stop a server that breaks the rules.

Your account

You need an account to create a server. Sign up with an email address you can read, because that is how we reach you.

  • Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account and on your servers, including by people you give access to.
  • Tell us quickly if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • If you are not old enough to agree to terms like these in the country where you live, a parent or guardian must read them and agree for you.

The free plan and renewals

The plans page describes what a free server includes, and that description is part of these terms. There is no charge and we do not ask for a credit card.

A free server is online 24/7 as long as you renew it. Renewing is one click, paid for with account credits that are free to collect. It is due on a schedule that depends on your plan (every few hours on some plans). The renewal is a real condition, not a formality:

  • A server that is not renewed in time may be suspended.
  • A suspended server that stays unrenewed may later be removed permanently, together with its files.
  • The current renewal rules and limits are on the plans page.

Your content and your backups

Your worlds, settings, plugins, mods and other files stay yours. By putting them on a server you give us permission to store, copy and transmit them as far as that is needed to run the service. We claim no other rights in them.

You are responsible for what you upload and for having the right to use it. That includes following the license of every plugin, mod and modpack you install.

Keeping a copy is your job. Save your own copy of your world and other important files regularly and keep it somewhere else. Hardware fails, mistakes happen and unrenewed servers can be removed, and we cannot promise to get lost files back.

Acceptable use

A free server is for running the games we support, for you and your players. The acceptable use policy lists what is not allowed, such as attacks, cryptocurrency mining and tricks that fake renewals. It is part of these terms.

No uptime guarantee

A free plan comes with no guarantee of uptime, speed or availability. The service is provided as it is. There will be maintenance, faults and outages.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Severoo at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, write to support@severoo.com.

We may suspend or stop a server, remove content or close an account if these terms or the acceptable use policy are broken, if a server puts the service or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. In serious cases, such as attacks or illegal content, we may act at once and without warning. If you think we got it wrong, email us.

Changes to the service and to these terms

We may change, limit or end features, plans and limits, or close the service altogether. If we close it, we will try to give you time to save a copy of your files first.

We may also update these terms. When a change matters to you, we will announce it on this website or by email before it applies. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.

Liability and governing law

The service is free, so our responsibility to you is limited as far as the law allows. To that extent, we are not liable for lost worlds or files, downtime, lost time or any indirect loss that comes from using the service or from not being able to use it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where we are established. Nothing in them takes away rights that the law says cannot be taken away, including the protection your own country gives you as a consumer and any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Not an official Minecraft service

Severoo is an independent host. It is not an official Minecraft service and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. Other game names belong to their owners.

When you run a Minecraft server you must follow the game's own rules: the Minecraft End User License Agreement and the Minecraft Usage Guidelines. The same goes for the license of any other game you host.

How to contact us

Questions about these terms go to support@severoo.com. To report a server that breaks the rules, write to abuse@severoo.com. The contact page lists every other way to reach us, and the privacy policy covers your data.
